Introducing the safe and conditioning foundations of a Hatha Yoga practice.
Classes offer participants guidance & practice in simple, progressive, and meaningful movement -
Releasing stagnant and obstructive energy (shadows),
Stabilising with various stances and suitable seats (asanas),
Coordinating upper / lower body, right / left side weight-bearing with breath.
These basic yogic preparation practices are suitable for the beginner.
Cultivation of a progressive practice encourages focus and internal awareness.
In practicing (bathing the body with awareness), attention is drawn to:
habitual tendencies in posture and breath
sensitivity to the internal situation
breath capacity and rhythm
Most naturally intelligent (organic) adjustments occur gently and spontaneously.

Private Sessions
Traditionally yoga was taught teacher to student, one to one.
In this way the unique requirements of the individual are directly addressed.
It is an effective method of transmission, particularly when the student practices between sessions.
Regular practice is required for any significant progress to occur.
For local students: Single- or 6-week personalised programs are designed.
For those who live out-of-town: 2-day to 5-day immersions can be booked.
$90 - Single session of 1 hour
$380 – 6 x sessions of 1 hour (valid for 6 months from date of purchase)
$330 – 3 x sessions of 1.5 hour (immersions for out-of-towners and those with experience)
By Appointment Only
Throughout your practice
Maintain tip of tongue on the roof of your mouth (behind front teeth)
Gaze softly downward
Aim to move with the breath; steadily, slowly
Maintain awareness of your feet and their contact with the floor
Only work to your limit; no forcing or pushing beyond
Menstruation
Before class please let Narelle know if you are menstruating, and appropriate instruction will be provided for that day of your menstrual cycle. For the first 3 days of the menstrual cycle, restorative practice is given, slowly entering back into practice over the first 7 days. It is of utmost importance to rest during the first 3 days of your cycle, however you are welcome to attend and follow guidance for a restorative practice or to sit supported and observe the class. Much importance is placed upon being aware of the rhythm of your cycle; refraining from too much activity when you are menstruating. The long term benefits of resting at this time are immense.

Class guidance with Narelle Lullfitz
Narelle was first introduced to Hatha (Shadow) Yoga in 2006. Founders Sundernath (Shandor Remete) and Emma Balnaves have been her yoga teachers over this time. Their teaching introduced her to the necessary foundations and preparatory practices of Hatha Yoga, which Sundernath revived within the school of Shadow Yoga.
Narelle has continued to cultivate her practice and learning of Hatha Yoga with ongoing tuition. She has been sharing the practice of Hatha Yoga preparations for twelve years.
