Shala meaning ‘home’
Home of cultivating self practice
Meet the Shala founder Nell Lullfitz
Nell turns for inspiration from Mother Nature. Being a mum, she has been learning the importance of practicing simple, effective and efficient health-care from long-term daily practice of Hatha Yoga and Ayurvedic medicine. She shares from her experience of practicing even the simple daily preparations that these Great Traditions of Wisdom offer us for Life.
Nell began learning Shadow (Hatha) Yoga in 2006 with teachers Sundernath (Shandor Remete) and Emma Balnaves. Their teaching introduced her to the simple yet potent foundations and preparatory practices of Hatha Yoga. She has continued to cultivate her practice and learning of Shadow Yoga with ongoing tuition and has been sharing yoga within the community for twelve years.
Initially when studying Beauty Therapy (1997) Nell was most inspired by the subjects of Massage, Facial treatments and Aromatherapy, for their therapeutic qualities. From this she was introduced to the importance of food choices, daily routine, and movement practices for overall health of body and mind. This followed on to her introduction to the science of Ayurveda, which led her to studying clinical Ayurveda and its treatments, and then came Yoga.
